What is the ballpark currently used for?

Formerly home to the Salt Lake Bees, Smith’s Ballpark is now a multi-use venue managed by Cornerstone on behalf of Salt Lake City. The Ballpark hosts concerts, festivals, community gatherings, corporate events, private functions, and more.

Who manages the ballpark?

The CRA has contracted with Cornerstone to manage and activate the venue. Cornerstone also serves as the exclusive provider of event production and AV services.

How do I book an event at the ballpark?

Submit an event request form (located below). A representative from Cornerstone will reach out to discuss event details and potential pricing.

Can I book through Salt Lake City?

No. Cornerstone is the official event rental and activation manager. All inquiries made to the City will be redirected to Cornerstone.

What types of events can be held at the ballpark?

The venue is ideal for concerts, festivals, movie nights, corporate gatherings, community celebrations, and private parties. Unique event ideas are also welcome.

Is the ballpark suitable for indoor and outdoor events?

Yes. While primarily an outdoor venue, indoor spaces such as suites and club levels can be used for VIP receptions, meetings, or breakout sessions.

What are the standard event hours?

8:00 AM–11:00 PM. Extended hours may be available (additional fees apply). All events must comply with city and county noise ordinances and curfews.

What’s included in a standard rental?

Standard rentals may include:

Restrooms

Basic venue staffing (venue manager, operations liaison)

Trash removal (post-event)

Use of designated event spaces

Standard utilities (power, water, lighting)

Rental fees vary by event type, duration, and space usage. A custom quote will be provided after a review of the proposed event.

What services may incur additional fees?

AV and production (required through Cornerstone)

Food and beverage (managed by Cornerstone)

Security personnel (required for all events)

Additional staffing (ushers, custodial, ticketing, etc.)

Parking attendants or valet

Equipment rentals (staging, tents, tables, chairs, etc.)

Extended hours or overnight access

Are deposits or damage fees required?

Yes. Events require a non-refundable deposit and a refundable damage deposit (amount based on event size and risk). Organizers are responsible for damages beyond normal wear and tear.

What are the cancellation and refund terms?

60+ days before event: 75% refund

30–59 days before: 50% refund

Less than 30 days: no refund
All bookings require a non-refundable deposit.

Are set-up and tear-down days charged the same as event days?

Yes, unless otherwise negotiated.

Is insurance required?

Yes. A Certificate of Insurance (COI) must be provided before confirmation.

What coverage is required?
  • General Liability: $1,000,000 per occurrence, $2,000,000 aggregate

  • Automobile Liability: $1,000,000

  • Workers’ Compensation: $100,000 per accident, $100,000 per employee, $100,000 policy limit

Main Field & Seating Bowl: up to 14,000

Concourse: vendor booths, receptions, small gatherings

Club Level & Suites: VIP experiences, meetings, private events

Outfield Lawn: flexible for casual events or overflow

All events must follow fire code, ADA standards, and city regulations.

Can the field be used for events?

Yes, with advance approval. Protective measures may be required to preserve turf, and additional fees may apply.

Who provides AV and production services?

Cornerstone is the exclusive AV and production provider. All technical needs must be coordinated through their team.

What stage and AV capabilities are available?

Is food and beverage available?

Yes. Catering and concessions are managed onsite by Cornerstone. Outside food and drinks are not permitted.

How does load-in/load-out work?

Coordinated through Cornerstone with designated access points, scheduled time slots, and on-site support staff. No loading docks are available—forklift service must be scheduled in advance.

Is the ballpark ADA accessible?

Yes, with accessible seating, ramps, elevators, ADA-compliant restrooms, and designated parking/drop-off zones.

Is parking available?

Yes. Parking is available on site. Fees may apply depending on the event.
